On Friday 13 May we held our Annual Meeting and voted on this year's two Resolutions: A) Appropriate Care in Hospitals for People with Dementia, and B) Avoid Food Waste, Address Food Poverty. Jules Evans, our WI Advisor, for the evening, ably guided us through the proceedings. Interesting debates followed, with the resultant voting: A) For: 2, Against: 8, Abstain: 4 and B) For: 12 Against: 2. As last year, it was felt by the majority that the wording was ambiguous, therefore agreed to the Discretionary vote in case the wording was amended at a later date.
The secret ballot then took place on the future President, with votes for Jackie and Christine. Christine reluctantly said No, so guess who is still President. Delicious refreshments were provided by Raili Caldicott and Norma Willis.
Friday 12 June we are invited to a mini Fish & Chip supper in Jean Sleigh’s garden, 6.30 for 7pm, Cost approx £5. Contact Jackie if you want directions. Bring your own drink and folding chair, and perhaps this year if we ask for rain we’ll get sunshine !!!!
The Dodford Show will be held at Dodford Village Hall on Saturday 3 September 2016. Schedules will not be included with the Parish magazine, but will be available from Penny or Jackie Parker (01527 880640) and hopefully on our new website soon.

April meeting 2016
On Friday 8th April, we armed ourselves with rubber gloves and aprons, and Mary Day skilfully encouraged each of us to produce a beautifully printed silk scarf. An evening with a difference.
Our next meeting is Friday 13th May, when we will be holding our AGM and vote on this year's two Resolutions.
They are:
1) Appropriate Care in Hospitals for People with Dementia, and
2) Avoid Food Waste, Address Food Poverty.
Information is provided on pages 21 and 22 in the April issue of WI Life.
Please read and bring your view along to our meeting.
